Bosch package choices

Bosch Universal classic packages: MUM6610, MUM6622 and MUM6630

Bosch’s Universal Series manual lists three similarly named packages, but their documented boxes differ. These exact U.S. support-code references are useful for owners and secondhand listing checks; Bosch’s current U.S. mixer category instead shows MUM6N10UC and MUM6N10UG. A manual package list is not proof of current stock, a seller’s parts, or revision-specific changes.

MUM6610: the core mixer set

The manual’s MUM 6610 UC list has the electronic power unit with cord storage, a six-quart MUZ6KR3 mixing bowl with splash ring and cover, twin beating whisks, dough hook and motor-drive cover. No blender or shredder appears in that package list. This is the simplest Universal option of the three for kneading, whipping and mixing. The MUM6610UC/01 U.S. service record links this family manual, but the manual lists the base code without the /01 suffix; check the actual plate and package on a specific unit.

MUM6622: the six-cup blender package

The MUM 6622 UC adds a six-cup MUZ6MX2 blender to the same basic mixing package. There is an unresolved documentation mismatch: the package summary names MUZ6MX2, while the manual’s blender directions are labeled MUZ7MX1. Do not transfer that section’s hot-liquid limit or cleaning procedure to MUZ6MX2. If the blender is important, verify its own model and obtain the matching instructions before use.

MUM6630: a second bowl and food preparation

The MUM 6630 UC package includes the common six-quart bowl plus a separate stainless-steel MUZ6ER1 bowl, the MUZ6RR2 slicer/shredder and a MUZ6RG3 “Universal” beater. The manual does not state the extra steel bowl’s capacity or the material of the standard bowl. The three listed discs cover reversible slicing, reversible shredding and grating. The Universal beater is for lighter, pourable mixtures in the slicer bowl; the dough hook remains the tool for heavier dough. The shredder is a separate drive setup, not a tool to run alongside bowl mixing.

Shared operation, limits and shopping advice

The manual describes three numbered speeds plus a momentary M pulse, Off, two drive positions and a thermal safety cutout. It gives recipe examples—not a universal dough maximum—including around 20 egg whites, six cups of cream and a three-times yeast-dough recipe estimated at ten one-pound loaves. Start at speed 1 for combining, use liquids first and follow the exact recipe/tool instructions. Standard North American models are listed at a 700-watt maximum, but the manual directs the owner to the nameplate for voltage. It describes hand washing the whisk holder and dough hook, dishwashing most other bowl parts, and wiping the power unit with a damp cloth only.

For a current Bosch choice, compare the MUM6N10UC plastic-bowl and MUM6N10UG stainless-bowl packages rather than assuming a classic Universal box is still offered. For an existing or used MUM66-series machine, identify the E-Nr and inventory the exact bowls, tools, lids and attachments. The MUM6610, MUM6622 and MUM6630 assessments retain the package-specific unknowns.
