Your needs, this model

What does the exact SMF03BLUS Black package include?
The exact U.S.-coded technical sheet lists a five-quart handled stainless bowl, wire whisk, flat beater, flex-edge beater, dough hook and plastic pouring shield. The source does not say the mixer has a powered hub; optional attachments remain separate.
Explore this need in the finder →How large is the manual's bread/pizza flour guide?
The SMF03 table describes up to four pounds of total dough and 2.6 pounds of flour under its stated hydration/time/speed guidance. It is not an independent performance test; start at 1, then use speed 2, and stop/divide if the dough strains.
Explore this need in the finder →Could a smaller egg-white batch be a decision factor?
SMF03BLUS lists a two-egg-white minimum and twelve-egg-white maximum. A single white is below the maker's published minimum; it is not assumed to whisk reliably just because the bowl is large.
Explore this need in the finder →SMF03BLUS identifies the glossy Black, full-color-base 50’s Style stand mixer with a five-quart handled stainless bowl. Its exact U.S.-coded specification lists a 600-watt direct-drive motor, ten speeds, Smooth Start, planetary mixing, four tools and a pouring shield. Keep this assessment for identifying an existing unit or comparing older packages: SMEG’s current U.S. directory lists SMF04 and SMF05 configurations, not SMF03, and the exact U.S. product URL did not resolve. An exact SMEG-hosted Canadian page for this U.S.-coded code reports out of stock. This is a reference, not a current purchase recommendation.
A fuller package than the standard look suggests
The standout distinction is not bowl size. The SMF03BLUS still uses the five-quart stainless bowl; its product data identifies a full-color Black body and base rather than the silver base shown on some neighboring SMEG models. The bowl has a handle, the head tilts back, and the machine has ten speed levels with a gradual-start function. The manufacturer also lists overload protection and a safety lock when the head is raised. Those details describe the documented package, not independent testing of speed consistency, kneading strength or durability.
SMF03’s exact package adds a flexible-edge beater and a pouring shield alongside the wire whisk, flat beater and dough hook. That makes it a different box from SMF02BLUS, whose exact U.S. sheet lists the three basic mixing tools and shield but not a flex edge, and from current SMF04 listings, which put the flex edge among optional accessories. Finish-only codes in this SMF03 color group retain separate identities; their exact U.S. data sheets show the same bowl, tools and operating capacities as this Black base configuration. The Sicily Is My Love SMF03DGUS is a separate decorative package with its own capacity caveat and its own review.
Use the manual’s bread limit, not the five-quart label
The SMF03 product sheet lists four pounds of total bread or pizza dough with no more than 2.6 pounds of flour. Its family manual states the same guide as 1.8 kilograms total dough and up to 1.2 kilograms flour, with a four-minute time at speeds one and two. These are manufacturer guidelines, not measured batch results. The manual directs the baker to begin at speed one until the ingredients come together, then move to speed two. It warns that overly dry, stiff dough can overload the motor; if it struggles, stop and divide the batch instead of treating bowl volume as a safe dough maximum. The manual also warns that liquids should be at least roughly 50–60% of flour weight, depending on the formula.
The dough hook is the correct tool for bread, pizza and egg pasta. The flat beater can help at the start of kneading, but the manual says not to use the flex-edge beater for those doughs. That flexible tool is for softer mixtures and batters, where its silicone edge is meant to help maintain an even consistency. Egg pasta guidance is up to 500 grams of total dough with three eggs for five to seven minutes at speeds one and two. The manual gives up to two kilograms for prepared cake batter, 2.6 kilograms for pastry, two to twelve egg whites and 100–1,000 milliliters of cream. Treat each row as recipe guidance, not a guarantee for every ingredient combination.
Small portions and cleanup are specific choices
The product sheet gives a minimum of two egg whites and 3.4 fluid ounces of cream for the whisk, as well as upper limits of twelve egg whites and 34 ounces of cream. If you often whip a single egg white or less than about half a cup of cream, this published minimum does not establish that the whisk will reach your smaller portion. Use the requirement as a hard filter rather than assuming that a five-quart bowl works for every small amount.
The manual says the stainless bowl, dough hook, flat beater and flex-edge beater may be washed in a dishwasher. Its silicone flex edges can be removed for washing. The wire whisk and pouring shield are hand-wash items, and the motor base should never be immersed. Wipe the housing with a damp cloth after unplugging. The product sheet lists dimensions of about 16 inches wide by 8¾ inches deep, with roughly 14⅞ inches of height when lowered and 19 inches with the head raised; net weight is listed as 19 pounds. Check cabinet clearance before leaving it under a shelf.
Optional accessories do not change the package
A frontal port for optional accessories is documented, but that wording does not confirm a powered hub. The manufacturer lists optional attachments separately, and its compatible-accessory information restricts the ice-cream maker to mixers using the stainless SMB401 bowl. The SMF03 package identifies a handled stainless bowl but does not name the bowl code in the material used here, so do not infer that every accessory fits. Check the exact accessory code and required bowl before planning around a grinder, pasta tool or ice-cream attachment.
For a new countertop purchase, compare the exact current package and manual rather than choosing from the shared retro styling. The current SMEG SMF05 has its own 750-watt listing, four-tool package and a 2.9-pound flour guide for its specified bread dough; that is not the SMF03’s 2.6-pound instruction. The current SMF04 is another separate five-quart configuration. See the SMF05 assessment for that package. No price, stock guarantee, noise test or independent performance ranking is implied for SMF03BLUS.
